JOYE MARIE FENERTY  
Joye Marie Fenerty of Kensington Maryland went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2020. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. in her home parish, Holy Cross Church in Garrett Park Maryland. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on February 5, 2021. Joye Marie Fenerty (Lamkin) was born on March 9, 1931 in Vincent, Oklahoma. She was the second daughter of Claude and Anna Belle Lamkin. In 1961 she married Walter George Fenerty, in Amarillo, Texas. Joye graduated from Wellington High School, Wellington, Texas in 1948 and was class valedictorian. Joye worked for many years in Senator Howard Baker's office on Capitol Hill which she found to be an especially rewarding job. She later graduated from the University of Maryland in 1986 Summa Cum Laude. Joye enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, films, book club, and spending time with family and friends. She was extremely generous, kind, and loving. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, also her three sisters June McKinney, Mary Beth Walraven, and Jan Killingsworth, three brothers, Pete Lamkin, Harlon Lamkin and Lawrence Lamkin. Joye is survived by a son David Walter Fenerty his wife Kathy and by a granddaughter Lillie Marie Fenerty. Also surviving is one brother Monty Lamkin of Lubbock, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial gift made to Father Jean Prosper Yaga, a Priest who was assigned to Holy Cross parish now living in Cameroon (West Africa.)
