JULIA DOBRIANSKY

JULIA K. DOBRIANSKY (Age 97)  
On December 9, 2016, Julia K. Dobriansky died in Springfield, Virginia. Dear wife for 62 years of the late Ambassador Lev E. Dobriansky, professor at Georgetown University, and beloved mother of daughters, Larisa E. Dobriansky and Paula J. Dobriansky, both residing in the Washington Metropolitan area. Born December 17, 1918 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Julia, a graduate of New York University and Columbia University, was a high school teacher in Point Pleasant, New Jersey until she moved to the Washington, DC area with her husband in the 1950s. Loved and admired by all who knew her, Julia's wisdom and counsel always well-guided family and friends. She will be especially remembered for her fierce love of life, social wit and unique personal charm. With her husband, she was a dedicated fighter for the freedom and human rights of the oppressed in Ukraine, her ancestral country, and globally, including supporting such efforts of her husband's as the annual U.S. Congressional "Captive Nations Resolution." In honor of her life, family and friends will join for funeral and burial services at the Holy Trinity Chapel in Washington, DC on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Julia's love will continue to shine through our lives.
