JULIAN SAMUEL STEIN, JR.
On June 22, 2012 Julian Samuel Stein, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and Rangeley, ME; irrepressible partner of Elizabeth Sheehan and extraordinary father of Denny, Jonathan, Nicholas, Katry, Kate, Diana, Phoebe and Sarah; prized grandfather of Sam, John-Patrick, Jordan, Alexandra, Simon, Rosellen, Christopher, Elizabeth and Katharine, beloved great-grand Poppa of Jacksen. Former husband of the late Lucy Morehead and Emory B. Phillips. Memorial celebrations will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Rangeley, Maine and on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Baltimore, MD.Inquiries may be directed to the family.

Julian was a gentleman and an inspiration for two generations of family and friends. We're grateful to have known him and we will miss him. The mountains and lakes of Maine will forever hold his spirit.

Sending positive thoughts to Betsy and all the Steins at this sad time. I feel privileged to have known Julian and spent time with him in his natural habitats -- Rangeley, Paris, London. I can only hope some of his magic rubbed off on me. Love to you all!

To all of Julian's loved ones. I truly appreciated knowing Julian. He was so full of life, and his spirit of adventure was contagious. If you had the opportunity to read his book you know what an extrordinary amount of "living" he piled into those 92 odd years. All hail, Julian! And deepest sympathy to those whose lives he enriched.
