KARL WILLIAM CORBY IV

Karl William Corby IV, born on April 25, 1971, in Washington, DC, passed away on September 30, 2023, at the age of 52. He was the son of Nina Commette Corby and the late Karl W. Corby III. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn E. Corby; and his two sons, Jack Austin Corby, and Mason Stephen Corby. Karl is also remembered by his siblings, Kristin Corby Lumelleau (Rich) and Stephen Commette Corby (Mary Jo), five nieces and nephews, countless family members, and his previous wife Serena Cardi Corby.

Karl was a passionate learner. After graduating from The Lawrenceville School in 1989, he pursued his undergraduate studies at Jacksonville University, graduating in 1994 and then obtaining an MBA from The George Washington University in 1999. He dedicated himself to a successful career in commercial real estate management, serving as the Property Manager of Washington Harbour in Georgetown, and later as the General Manager for many commercial properties in and around Washington, DC. Eventually he founded Corby Realty Services, LLC, a real estate consulting firm.

His life was marked by a love of boating, fishing, classic cars, and animals, especially dogs. Karl's kindness and selflessness were qualities that defined him. He always placed others first, ready to help at a moment's notice. He found joy in games, had an unwavering passion for the Redskins (#HTTR), and enjoyed the simple pleasures of a Heineken, seafood, and a great steak.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that a donation in his name be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), https://www.jdrf.org/

Karl spent 46 years as a Type 1 diabetic before receiving a dual organ transplant in 2022.

Karl's memory will live on through the love he shared with family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, selflessness, and a zest for life that will be forever cherished.

Rest in peace, Karl. Your spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts you touched, and you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. No services are planned at this time.
