KATHERINE M. SANZARO, MD (Age 57)
On Thursday, May 19, 2011, of University Park, MD. Beloved daughter of Dr. Frank J. and Patricia A. Sanzaro; sister of Dr. Francis J. Sanzaro and the late Dr. Thomas J. Sanzaro; niece of Joan W. Mullan and Geraldine M. Woodworth. Also survived by many loving family members and friends. Relatives and friends may call at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 7501 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, MD, on Tuesday, May 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Capital Chapter, 1800 M Street, NW, Suite 750 South, Washington, DC 20036.www.COLLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

As patients of Dr Sanzaro we wish her family our condolences and prayers. She was a beautiful person, the best and most caring doctor we ever had and were so sorry when she could no longer practice her special way of taking care of us. She is the only doctor that ever personally called us whenever tests results came in. She meant a lot to all of her patients. She was a good Christian and she has gone Home to live eternally with her Lord without pain and sickness. God bless her.

I was a patient of Dr. Sanzaro's, at the Hyattsville office, for many years. She was the most awesome doctor I ever had. The world is a much better place for her being here. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Katherine was a wonderful doctor and friend. We kept in touch with her after she left Dr. Lilly's office to see how she was doing. She was absolutely the greatest. We will miss her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sanzaro Family. Doctor Sanzaro was my primary-care doctor at the Lilly office. She was so comforting, always helping her patiients not only to get well but to find peace. I hope this note helps bring a little of that comfort and peace to your family.

My deepest of sympathy to the Sanzaro family. I worked with Dr. Sanzaro in the Lilly office. I learned so much from her. Her compassion and strength was an inspiration. God has taken away her pain and I believe she is dancing in heaven.

My condolences to Kathy's loving family and sending prayers and peace filled thoughts - I graduated from Regina with Kathy and worked at Providence Hospital with Kathy on the OB floor on weekends while we finished high school. She was an inspiration.

I realize that I've been out of touch with your family for many years, but I do remember Kathy well from our days at Campus School and also since our families were so close. Both of my parents who were friends of Frank and Patricia are no longer alive, but my siblings all remember your family so fondly and well. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Sanzaro family. I've known Katherine for thirty years, first as my physician and then as my friend. She was an inspiration to me as I have never known anyone to handle adversity with so much grace and kindness. I will miss her, as I miss Tommy, and I know that she will be blessed for her many good deeds over the years.
