To Joe and Kathleen's Family,

I have lost a good friend and a piece of the Rural Carrier Family with the passing of Kathleen. I feel she is sitting in heaven looking down on me saying " Yes you can do it", as she told me that quite often. My sympathy goes out to you, her family, and Joe, her special person as she is missed very much and has touched the life of everyone who knew and loved her.

On behalf of my entire family, I'd like to send out our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all of your kind remarks. Kathleen touched so many lives in a positive manner. I’m still amazed to see how far reaching her touch was. I was glad to see that I wasn’t the only one to feel the wrath of her “red pen”. She always used to correct the rough drafts of all my school work. I guess it was just a natural progression for her to become an editor. She will be deeply missed, there’s a void in all of ours lives that will never be filled. Keep her memory alive as you continue to move forward without her in your life. Please forgive any spelling or grammatical errors in this text…I’ve lost the best editor anyone could ever have, my big sister!

We mourn the passing of a wonderful friend; inspiring leader; friendly, smiling, co-worker; and supremely competent editor who made it all look easy. She inspired us, challenged us, made us think and reach higher to try and be better. How hard it will be not to see her and talk with her. The Rural Carrier family shares her family's grief. We pray that God will comfort you and hold her close until we see her again. Jack and Mickey Tunstill, Owens Cross Roads, AL

We only had a half a dozen years to know Kathleen -- primarily at those hectic days known as National Convention. She was helpful as we struggled to produce the Illinois counterpart publication. Somehow there is a space generally towards the rear of the auditorium that will be empty when we meet again. Our sympathy, and hugs across the miles.

To the O'connor family.

Words cannot express the sympathy Jenny and I have for you during this time of grief. We were at the SWAC Conference in Dallas when the news came from Donnie Pitts.

It was a total shock for the entire Rural Carrier family who knew Kathleen. She was always so helpful when we called to place an ad in the NRLCA magazine. She will be missed.

Our prayers to Joe and Kathleens' family at this time. She was and is a special person to so many, her laughter and spirit are apart of us still. Those of us who worked with her gained so much knowledge, but most of all we respected her; she was never to busy to help us. She always encouraged us, helped to laugh at ourselves and always helped us to learn more. We were so blessed to know her and call her our friend,

Kathleen was a true friend, who made me laugh with her E mails, and showed how much she cared for her family and friends with her encouragement and support. Truly a kindred spirit, who will never be forgotten. I have been blessed knowing her.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Kay face to face once...many years ago, but I remember her fondly. It seems the distance from our East to West Coast families is like the great continental divide. But that's only physically. Emotionally we're with you all now.

Bob Ann, I know how special you were to my dad. If he were here today I know his heart would be breaking for you, big Mike, little Mike, and Ann Marie...like ours is now. But instead he's probably sitting there with Kay...watching from above and waiting for us all to be reunited once again.

God bless you all...you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Marie (Regie) Wright (Lipske)

January 17, 2006

Dear Aunt Bobanne, Mike, Annmarie, Michael, and family. Even though I have only met Kathleen and her siblings just a couple of times, we are still family. Aunt Bobanne is my godmother (and my dad Bob Lipske's favorite cousin), and I believe my mom, Mary Lipske Rouse, was Kathleen's godmother. Us West Coast Lipske's are greatly sadden by your lost. I wish we lived closer so that we can be with you during this time of sorrow. Our prayers, thoughts, and love are with you all.

Love, Regie and Bill, and all of the West Coast Relatives.

There's an old quotation, "Leave them laughing". Well even though Kaye has unexpectedly left before me she left me with a great story to tell. Thereby she becomes some what immortal. We can all rejoice in having known her.
