I am just now able to write this. I met Kathy first night at Washington Hospital Center school of nursing. We became BFFs that night, and danced in the hallway to some loud music coming from someone's room. We spent the next 3 years together, and became soulmates. I wouldn't know who I was without her in my heart. After we graduated we continued to be integral parts of each other's life. I have never missed someone so much. I loved her, and her whole family. I will never be the same until we are together again.

I have such fond memories of spending time with Kathy at Lake Gaston -- she was always smiling, laughing and so fun to be around. Whenever our family (the Weavers) joined Kathy and her family, we had a wonderful time. My deep condolences to Pat and all the Royals family.

I first met Kathy taking a summer school typing class at Seton in 1968. She was my introduction to Seton and shared so many of the "secrets" with me and Laraine Brady to make us prepared for our freshman year. My thoughts and prayers are offered to her family.

I worked with Kathy just a little under a year and yet she has left a lasting impression in my heart in that short time. Kathy had one of the sweetest spirits of anyone I have ever known. I will forever remember the kindness that was shown to me by her when I first started working at Piccard. I'm already missing the laughs we shared and the stories she would tell. She will definitely be missed around here. My deepest condolences and prayers for her family and friends.

I just heard today about my sweet friend Kathy. I'm sad because for the last couple weeks, I've been thinking I need to call and check up on her. I worked with Kathy at two different surgery centers and she was a lot of fun to work with! She had a great sense of humor and the biggest heart. I'll never forgot how caring and kind she was while I was pregnant with my boys and her interest in my kids and family. I love you Kathy! I miss our conversations and your sweet heart and loving persona. You will be missed and I truly am grateful to have known you and call you my friend!

A classmate at Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, MD, Kathy was a person who could make of a friend of anyone. She was bubbly and humble, funny and grounded. Condolences, prayers and remembrances to her family and loved ones.

Dear Mrs. Royals, Colette, Barbara and Tom, So sorry to hear of Kathy's death. Growing up she and I shared a lot of experiences. From St. Catherine's to Seton (and riding the Wheaton bus!) and CYO One Act Play Contests to Brooke Manor CC Kathy and I traveled many roads together. I saw her at the 40th reunion of Seton's Class of 1971. I wish I had done a better job of staying in touch.

My dear, dear Kathy. My heart is so heavy. I had the pleasure of only knowing you for a little over a year but it seemed like a life time. You brought such joy and laughter to us at Piccard Surgery Center. You were our bright light. We sat down with you just six days ago to give you time off to take care of YOU. Instead of going home, you insisted on staying for the rest of the day so you could 'take care' of the patients that were scheduled for surgery. I looked you in your eyes and said 'You amaze me. You're sitting here and not feeling well, yet you want to make sure all your patients have the information needed for their appointments.'. In that very moment, you taught me the true meaning of SELFLESSNESS. I didn't know that was going to be the last time I'd get to talk with you, but I believe you did. I knew you were in pain, but you still smiled. You smiled through it all. No more pain and suffering, my 'Kathy Bean'. May your kind and beautiful spirit rest in eternal peace. I'll miss you like crazy. LOVE YOU KATHY BEAN! To Kathy 's family, my condolences are with you at this difficult time. May you be comforted in knowing that God has her and she is healed.....Kendra (Piccard Surgery Center)
