Ken was one of the kindest people I ever met. I felt a kinship as he knew musicians from the New York Philharmonic I met when I was a kid through my dad and his fellow musician friend. Laurie, I´m so sad for your loss. I will miss my little chats with him at the school music events. I will forever remember our heartfelt last chat at the hotel in NYC.

Ken and my cousin, Les Krieger, have been dear friends for many, many years.

From what I knew of Ken, there is nothing that he wouldn't do for Les. For Ken, they were family. So, for me, it feels like I've lost a family member.

My deepest condolences to Ken's family - may his memory be a blessing!

My heart will forever remember the day you handed my short, shy Adam the baritone sax. Adam loved Jazz Band with you. In spring of 8th grade, you pushed my son to lug his prized possession into Wootton's audition room. If not for your belief in Adam's ability to gain a spot, my uncompetitive son would never have won out over the intimidating, bearded upperclassman who auditioned beside him. Although my daughter's affinity was voice, she knew if Mr. Krohn was at Frost, she would take Band. She remembers 6th grade year pretending to play the clarinet next a new girl would would become her lifelong best friend. Yours were the best moments of her day. For all the many decades we spent teaching, laughing and crying together, I'm comforted to know you are in Heaven dramatically directing the angels. Eternally yours, Phyllis Bank

My deepest condolences to the Krohn family. I met Ken at a Meet-and-Greet for incoming Oberlin freshman from New Jersey. He was responsible for my interest in percussion, which led to 2 years of percussion study under Cloyd Duff. Many fond memories of our practice room antics, being on tour with the choir, and more. Rest in peace, Ken.

My deepest sympathies go to his family and friends. I was his first wife, having met at Oberlin. As a fellow musician we performed in many concerts together while we were married. He taught me about jazz, which I enjoy to this day. I´m sure Ken left a large musical legacy that will continue for many years.
