Some presences never leave. They remain, even after the silence.
Kevin was made of quiet light and rare kindness.
He had the gift of making the world feel lighter, even when the weight he carried was unseen.
His laughter warmed the cold, and his eyes often spoke more than his words.
There was love in every gesture, every silence, every choice to stay - even when he himself was fading.
He is gone, yet the marks he left cannot be erased.
And those who truly knew him, they know:
there was love there...
a love that was felt, returned,
and perhaps still lives - somewhere among the stars.
"And when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars..."
He became a constellation for those who knew how to see.

Kevin was my first friend and will always be at the heart of my most cherished childhood memories. Although we had lost touch with one another in college I will never forget the starlight in his eyes or the inescapable infectiousness of his laugh. To Kevin's friends and family... I am just so incredibly sorry for your loss. I pray the love and joy found in his memory can lighten your heavy hearts.

I still haven't taken a breath and don't think I will for a while. Mankind didn't deserve someone as good as you but thank you for being with us while you could. I will remember you every day. I'll never know what exactly to say. You've no idea the depth at which you touched those around you. I don't want to learn anything from this. I love you, Kevin.

I knew Kevin whilst in High School. We were in the same grade and shared many classes over time. I considered him, if not one,but my closest friend. and He was one of the most concerned and caring friends that i had and always was there for us all. Its such a shame that after all these years not having been in touch for so long that latest news is of his passing. Rest in Peace Kev.

I am absolutely heartbroken in the wake of the news of Kevin's passing. My time at the University of Maryland would have been entirely different without his loyal friendship, his sweet smile, and his hilariously contagious laugh. My heart goes out to his family and friends, and you all will remain in my thoughts for a very long time. I wanted to share an excerpt from a play we did together our freshman year of college, Dog Sees God. I hope it brings others a small amount of comfort.
"As for the questions that you are asking yourself and others: don't concern yourself with death. Concern yourself with life. Enjoy every moment of it that you are allowed to. Life is a process that can be both cruel and rewarding. But this story lies between the two bookends. Also, bare no malice for the ones who leave you. The only regret they feel now is the regret of not being able to tell you how they really feel. They wish that they could say goodbye to the ones they left behind. But sometimes that's not possible. Even in perfect happiness -- even in nirvana -- They will always have this regret."

I will always remember Kevin as the playful, laughing little boy who used to love to run after Jill in the backyard. I remember the holidays and the family get togethers and his excitement.. he was so little but his energy filled the entire room. I truly love little kev and will never forget the little song he sung to remember to spell his name. He had a big impact on me,my sons name is Kevin ❤ I am so sorry that he is gone so young.

Kevin was such a kind-hearted person. I will always remember the love he showed for foster kittens and his beloved sisters. I didn't know him very well, but I will never forget his smile. So much love to the McLaughlin family.

Kevin had a smile that could melt the largest ice burg. He had a heart that never stopped loving all those around him. He will be sadly missed, but just look to the stars and you will see one that is shinning brighter than all the others and that will be Kevin.

There are those whose lives affect all others around them. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn, touches another. Reaching out to ends further than they would ever know. William Bradfield
