My condolences to the Merriweather family. Kevin, you will truly be missed. I am still in disbelief about this. Everytime I think about it, I just shake my head in disbelief. Although I haven't seen you since I left HQ, I still remember your friendly, funny and sometimes sarcastic personality. And I have enjoyed our occasional email exchanges about whatever. And to think we emailed just days before your passing..... I hope that you have found the peace you could not find on this earth. Everyone who met you was better because of it and you will not soon be forgotten. RIP brother....

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Merriweather Family. We were shocked to hear about Kevin from another coworker at the Department of the Interior, where Kevin worked sometime ago. Kevin always had a smile and a joke to tell, always making us laugh. We will never forget his laugh and his smile. Rest in Peace Kevin.

Kevin - I will truly miss you. Thank you for being my friend, for calming me down when I would be on the verge of losing it, for making me laugh when I didn't want to, for always having words of encouragement. I will always treasure the friendship we had. Each time I bake a carrot cake.....I will remember the last thing you said to me 'Linda you better have my carrot cake for my birthday'. I miss you my friend. ATF will not be the same without you. Love you much, Rest Peacefully.

To Ethel, Carl, Brian, LJ and the entire Merriweather Family:

It was such a shock to hear of Kevin's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you. I have known Kevin since he was a little boy. One of the memories that came racing back to my memory was how my father used to always tell Kevin that they were going to the mountains and search the caves for bears. Kevin would always respond "when are we going 'cause I'm going to catch me a big bear." Well, I guess he and my dad will finally get an opportunity to sit down and talk and discuss why they never made it to that cave (lol). May GOD Bless and Keep each of you during your time of bereavement -- I LOVE YOU ALL!

Kevin - my friend and confidant: Words cannot begin to express how thankful I am that you came into my life. Your calming nature, wonderful spirit and beautiful soul will forever be missed. Everyone will miss your sweet smile, infectious laugh and comical relief. The wisdom and constant support you offered will guide me each day. I will hold to the promise you asked of me; I will never settle for less than I deserve. Until the day we meet again, I'll remember the times we shared together and smile. I truly hope you have found the inner peace you so long desired. You were loved by all. Rest Peacefully Kevin.

To "The Girls,” your dad loved you with his full heart. You were the light of his life; his whole world. I know he will be watching over you, protecting and guiding you every day.

Sometimes the things that seem to hurt the most are the very things that help to bring the best out in us. They are the things that help us to discover: the FAITH we thought we lost, the STRENGTH we didn't know we had, and the COURAGE to let go of the past and begin again. Trials and tribulations helps us to discover: WHO we really are, WHERE we are going, and HOW our lives can be, if we just keep our FAITH and keep TRYING. Always keep your memories close at heart and those memories will continue to see you through the tough times. Kevin was so well loved and will be truly missed. Rest In Peace (like we used to always say, "My Brother From Another Mother."

I met Kevin several years ago at work. He was always pleasant; kind and he never missed an opportunity to say hello. His presence will be missed, but the positive impression that he made on those about him, will forever remain within our hearts. Kevin was truly a child of God. I know this not just from his words, but by witnessing his actions. My condolences and prayers are offered to Kevin's family and friends.

To Kevin's family, an Irish Prayer;

When we lose someone we love it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence... a quiet sadness... A longing for one more day... one more word... one more touch... We may not understand why Kevin left this earth so soon, or why he left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived and that his life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We will see him again someday, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye. Amen.
