LARRY HOGAN Obituary
LARRY EUGENE HOGAN
Died on May 12, 2014, in Silver Spring, MD. Larry was born in Richmond, VA to Lawrence Felton Hogan and Mary "Mama" Curry. Affectionately known as "Boy, " Larry served as a mechanic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his Army service, he worked various occupations involving sales and customer service, including jobs as a pest control technician and taxi driver with Barwood Taxi. Larry is predeceased by his wife Charlotte Hogan and his mother Mary Wilkerson. He is survived by his stepfather Floyd T. Wilkerson, his sisters Lawrencetta, Carmelia, Sylvia, his first wife Linda, his children Lena, Michael, Dwayne, Renee, and Jessica, and nine grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Norbeck Community Church, 2631 Norbeck Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20906 on Friday, May 16 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon. To Bro. Larry's family: You have my deepest sympathy in the earthly loss of your loved one - but Heaven is rejoicing at the return of one of their best emissaries. Bro. Larry was one of my alternate drivers when my brother-in-Christ, Min. Virgil Williams, was not able to take me where I needed to go. Bro. Larry always had a kind greeting and would be playing gospel music, which was especially uplifting. He was not afraid to witness to anyone he came in contact with about the goodness, love and forgiveness that Jesus afforded to all of us, regardless of what we had done. He was a shining light to everyone he met, whether driving taxi, or not. His assignment here on earth is over, but he has increased the Kingdom of God by many more souls. Remember him with love and joy, accept His Father God and Jesus as your Savior, and you will see him again! He is waiting to greet the loved ones whom he left behind. May God continue to give you peace of mind and spirit, knowing that he went to sleep on this side and woke up in eternity with Jesus.
