LEOLA BONDS Obituary
LEOLA BONDS (Age 89)
On Tuesday, November 3, 2015 departed peacefully at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. Born on December 25, 1925 in Aniston, Alabama, raised in Cartersville, Georgia, she spent most of her life in Chattanooga, Tennessee until she moved to Washington, DC in 1995. Beloved mother of James Colvin Word, JD, Ph.D; grandmother of Kenneth Word, M.D., Jimmy Word, M.D., and Nathan Word, M.D., and great-grandmother of Joshua Word and Jinetta Word. Also survived by her sister, Ester Mae Hutchins and her daughter-in-law, Sunim Word, DDS and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the National City Christian Church, 5 Thomas Circle, NW, Washington, DC. Service to follow at the same church at 11 a.m. and interment at Glenwood Cemetery, 2219 Lincoln Rd., NE, Washington, DC 20002. Arrangements by W.H. BACON FUNERAL HOME, INC.
