LEONARD P. APPEL, M.D.
On Saturday, April 21, 2018, LEONARD P. APPEL, M.D., of Arlington, VA, formerly of Bowie, MD. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Appel, M.D. Devoted father of Amy (Fishel) Frid, Sharon (Tracy Soforenko), David (Sharon) and the late Nancy Appel. Loving grandfather of Yaakov Tzvi, Yitzchok (Aurora), Yocheved, Yehuda, Nesha Miriam, Chaim, Meir Simcha, Yosef Mordechai and Aron Frid, Jessica and Rebecca Soforenko and Rachel Appel. Cherished great-grandfather of Chanoch Kenzer, Rina Tehila, Brielle Nisa and Oraliya Frid. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018, 11 a.m. at TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 254 Carroll St., NW, Washington, DC, 202-541-1001. Shiva will be observed at the home of Sharon and Tracy from Monday through Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening, with minyans at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Barnard College/Phyllis and Nancy Appel Memorial Scholarship Fund, 3009 Broadway, New York, NY 10027.
