Leroy Bradley Obituary

Trailblazing Pharmacist, Devoted Husband, and Mentor

Leroy Bradley, 80, of Greenbelt, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center. Born September 25, 1944, in Kingstree, South Carolina, he was the oldest son of the late Willie Gee and Lula Mae Bradley.

A graduate of Howard University's College of Pharmacy (Class of 1967), Mr. Bradley enjoyed a distinguished 43-year career with Peoples Drug Stores, later CVS Pharmacy, where he rose to become the first African American district manager. He was admired as a mentor and leader, known for his professionalism, humility, and quiet strength.

Mr. Bradley was deeply devoted to his family and his faith. He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Vivian Lowette Bradley; children, Lynette Bradley-Baker (Troy) and Kevin Bradley (Dianne); grandchildren, Jasmine Gore, Taevon Bradley (Taniya), William Baker, and Daniel Bradley; sisters, Pansy Bradley-Cooper (Arthur) and Elretha Washington; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Willie Gee Bradley Jr.

A celebration of his life will be held at Celebration Church at Columbia, 7101 Riverwood Drive, Columbia, MD 21046 on Thursday August 28, 2025: viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., a remembrance service at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Maryland National Memorial, 13300 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707.
