Lisa was a wonderful co-worker of mine during my brief time at Paul. She was a very talented teacher. I had the wonderful opportunity to administer the DC CAS exams with Lisa and co- teach seminar classes with her. Lisa touched the lives of many young people and she will continue to live on in the hearts of many. God bless Lisa and may she rest in peace. Kristina Griffith

Condolences to Ms. Johnson, Carol & Johnson family. I will always remember the gifts & talents Lisa was so blessed with. We grew up together from Cheryl Wilson's Pageant & etiquette classes, to the halls of Duke Ellington. Lisa always exposed and brought her students to the dance concerts, and year after year sent her students to audition for the school. Her students were extremely fond of her, as she demanded excellence from all of them. Lisa, with her lovely smile and presence will certainly be missed. You are in the Hands of the Great One Now!

I can remember her prancing around Paul looking all fashionable and like she danced right off the screen from FAME !!!! I always thought she was a pretty lady....sassy at times but had a lovely smile at the same time. I hope her transition was painless.

Ms. Johnson was my 7th grade dance teacher and she will be truly missed. Her class was so entertaining as she taught technical dance skills to inner city children. All of the fashion shows and dance routines she coordinated were a success. I feel honored to have met her and she will never be forgotten. My condolences go out to her family and loved ones.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Our family will always remember Lisa's dance routines and her ability to deliver special announcements at church. Lisa was always well prepared and her dance presentations were performed with the up most professionalism. She was in a “Class ” all by herself and a “tough act to follow.” Rest in peace in Lisa.
Sincerely,
Linear & Kathy Cherry and Family

I remember Lisa when she was a member of the DC Youth Chorale, a city-wide High School choir. Lisa was a person with a warm heart and a lovely voice and always had a laugh that kept every one happy. I also remember Lisa when she worked with me with the Master Chorale Middle School Choir, with Paul Charter School students. She always made sure the students had their music learned, were attentive and gave me their best. I'll miss you Lisa. Peace and blessings to the family.
Lovingly,
Ms. Yvette Holt,

When those we love have left this earth, we still can feel them near. We'll see a picture, hear a song, and it’s just like they are here. And when we call upon our faith, when we believe and trust, we know the ones we care about are always close to us.
May God keep you lifted up.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness at the news of this tremendous loss. But there is 'Joy' in our hearts and spirits that our lives were deeply touched by an extraordinary 'Angel', Lisa Johnson. Her heart was kind, giving and full of love for everyone in her presence. She would witness to many through the gifts of dance & artistry that God placed upon her soul. God's light always shined within her. To her loving mother and family we send our deepest condolences and prayers for your strength during this difficult time. A true 'Sister in Dance', she will truly be missed.

Dear Lisa,
I remember when you used to sashay around the Folger with your most colorful ensemble. You were the best dressed of all of us and you had the personality to match. Friendly, funny, caring and all around fabulous person. You were taken too soon, but perhaps you were needed in Heaven to sashay and teach them a thing or two about style and fashion. You will truly be missed.
Love,
