LOUIS AVERINOS Obituary
LOUIS PETER AVERINOS
The servant of God, Louis fell asleep in the Lord on March 10, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Polis Averinos; and sisters, Loula Avgerinos and Kay Soumalias of Montreal, Canada. He is survived by his children, Catherine (John) and Peter (Georgia); and grandchildren, Christopher (Laura), Nicole and Louie. He is also survived by his brother, John Avgerinos of Montreal, Canada; as well as many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Louis was a life-long member of Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he was an active member of the Parish Council. He was also a member of AHEPA Chapter 31. Viewing will be held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, DC on Wednesday, March 15, at 10 a.m., immediately followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to The Father John Mosaic Restoration Fund at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. May the Lord grant that his servant Louis be given a place in heaven where all sorrow and pain are absent. May peace at last be his and may his memory be eternal!
