JENNIFER L. BORGES, DAUGHTER
October 12, 2022
Dad, on the anniversary of your death, I'm thinking of you. Last night, October 14, I watched a PBS documentary about development and design of aircraft. I thought of you, as they mentioned many subjects you were involved in. But one name stood out. Someone at PBS had programmed this film to coordinate with the date Chuck Yeager, became the first pilot to reach super sonic speed - October 14, 1947 - creating Mach 1. You were just 26 then dad. I remember you told me that he was your hero. Just hours before your ascension October 15, I said "Dad, you know what day it is? Today's the day Yeager broke the sound barrier." That was the day you chose to go on your greatest flight. To travel through space, and time, and meet our precious Father in Heaven. The day you got your own set of wings

Mrs. Borges, I am so sad to hear the news. I am very grateful that I was able to talk to Mr. Borges this spring. You were a wonderful wife and friend to him. This is a sacred time in life and I am praying that God will be very close and give you peace and comfort. I have very special and wonderful memories of growing up in Fox Lake and the Borges family are a central part. My condolences and love to Jenny, Marie, and Jaimie.

I will never forget Lou and will keep his old Jag running for as long as I'm around. I'm looking forward to many years of driving down beautiful country bi-ways with Josie by my side, with no particular place to be and at no particular time.
