Maha Matar Obituary
Passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2002. The Staff at Halquist Hospice Memorial Center in Arlington, closely attended in the final days of her eight years of ailment with cancer, and her large extended family were always near. Her husband, Nassim and two daughters, Nadine and Michelle, gave her home care for several years. She is survived by her mother, four sisters, three brothers and their families. Maha attended school abroad in Greece. She married Nassim Matar in 1982, afterwhich, they lived and worked in Northern VA. Maha has been very active in the international community. On Wednesday, April 17, a traditional Muslim service was held at Dar Al-Hijra Islamic Center, followed by a burial KING DAVID MEMORIAL CENTER. On Saturday, April 20, at noon there will be a memorial service at the Church of the Apostles, 3500 Pickett Rd., Fairfax, VA, with reception to follow (directions will be given at the church). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Halquist Hospice Memorial Center, 4715 N. 15th St., Arlington, VA 22205.
