Margaret Whitmore Obituary

Native Washingtonian Margaret "Marge" Whitmore passed away peacefully at Winchester Medical Center, in Winchester, VA after a long, full life of almost 95 years. Her parents were Charles "Chick" Henry Nelson (1903-1978) and Ruth Wilson Nelson (1906-2009). She has three siblings, Charles, Frederick, and Barbara Nelson. She married Wallace Earle "Wally" Whitmore (1927-2002) on June 16, 1951, and they raised four children, Laura Margaret Whitmore Anderson, David Wallace Whitmore, Douglas Nelson Whitmore (deceased 2024) and Robert Charles Whitmore. She and her family resided in Alexandria, VA, Greensboro, NC, Fairfax, VA, Washington, DC and Ashburn, VA. Marge enjoyed working as an ISA Accredited Estate Appraiser in DC and Northern, VA. Marge moved to Winchester, VA in 2013 to live with her sister. She leaves behind three children, eight grandchildren, a great grandchild, her three siblings, and many dear friends and relations. A service and celebration will be held at the Ashburn Presbyterian Church on November 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
