Liebe Caroline, lieber Charles,

It was with sadness that I heard of the passing of Mrs. Krewson. I worked with her in the European Division of the Library many years ago. She was always gracious and kind to me. May her memory be eternal and may she rest in blessed repose.

Fond memories of Mrs. Krewson as we worked together for years acquiring German and Dutch material for the Library. Knew the collections well and recommended good scholarly items for the German and Dutch collection. Was very instrumental in bringing the Waldseemuller Map to the Library an important monumental acquisition which is on permanent display. Always interesting to work with, a unique person, one of my favorite colleagues during my career in the Library. My Condolences to the family.

As an acquisitions specialist for Germanic material, I worked with Mrs. Krewson for many years at the Library of Congress. She was indefatigable and committed to her work. She often said that the Library's collections were what was important, that the collections will live on after us. She was right. I won't forget her many kindnesses and I'm so glad I got to work with her.
