MARIE TANA Obituary


MARIE KASNER TANA (Age 95)  
Marie Tana passed away on December 2, 2016. Mrs. Tana was born in Westphalia, Texas, in 1921 to Adolph and Rosa Kasner. Mrs. Tana was married to Vincent Tana of Washington, DC, in 1947. She is preceded in death by Vincent, her husband of 68 years, and two children, Charles and Lorraine. She is survived by two daughters, Cecilia Tana of Westphalia, Texas, and Margaret Tana and her husband, Michael Dymek of Silver Spring, Maryland. Mrs. Tana graduated from Providence Hospital Nursing School in Waco, Texas. After graduation, she traveled to Washington, DC, where she married Vincent Tana in 1947 and worked for 37 years as a registered nurse at what is now called the Washington Hospital Center. She lived in Maryland for 55 years before returning to Westphalia with Vincent in 2001.Services were held at the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia, Texas, on December 8, 2016. On Monday, December 19, 2016, friends and relatives may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD 20901 (Valet Parking), from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Meals on Wheels, Falls County, 101 Live Oak Street, Marlin, Texas 76661.
