MARIETTA S. JONES (Age 79)
Passed away on February 18, 2013. She was born on May 11, 1933 in Casper, WY. She had an outstanding 43 year career in the Federal Government ending at the Health Care Financing Administration. She retired July 2000. Mother of Garlynn (Vince) Parker of Mitchellville, MD, Garfield Jones of Glendale, AZ and Rossel Jones of Little Rock, AR. She had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Ola Belle Burley of Bowie, MD; brothers, Erving (Gladys) Smith of Irvine, CA and George Edward (Gerri) Smith of San Antonio, TX. Services at Pope Funeral Home, 5538 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, MD 20747 (301-568-4100), www.popefh.com on Tuesday, February 26, wake, 9 a.m.; service, 10 a.m. Interment at National Harmony Memorial Park, 7101 Sheriff Rd., Hyattsville, MD.

Dear Garlynn and family,

Dear Garlynn and Family,
I pray that The Lord JESUS Christ through His Holy Spirit fill you with comfort and peace during this new journey since your mother's death.
May you also find confidence in Him who is faithful to His Holy Word that reminds us that those who sleep in Jesus will rise first, then those who remain will be caught up together to meet Him in the air. The Bible tells us to comfort each other with these words.
Meanwhile, weeping may endure for a time, but the fond memories of your mother will last.
