MARION CHESLEY Obituary


 
MARION RIDGELY CHESLEY  "Bunny" (Age 92)  
Of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away April 19, 2015 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Born April 24, 1922, she was the daughter of Bernard Nicholas Ridgely and Mary Gertrude (Thompson) Ridgely. During her career with the St. Mary's School System, Marion was an elementary teacher and a reading specialist. She earned her Bachelor's degree in teaching and went on to earn her Master's degree at age 50. Organizations that Marion enjoyed included St. Mary's County Garden Club, Retired Teachers Association, and the Antique Arts Association. She loved gardening and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed creating detailed cross-stitch pictures, treasured by family and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick S. Chesley; son, Michael R. Chesley; sister, Mary Ann Ridgely; son-in-law, John B. Rison, and niece, Kimberly Collins. She is survived by daughter, Marion "Jonnie" Rison; son, William "Bill" Chesley (Robin); daughter, Sharon Watts (Tom); sister, Marjorie Rubala; nephew, Michael Rubala; eight grandhcildren and six great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from Friday, April 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at All Faith Episcopal Church, 38885 New Market Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Services and interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to All Faith Episcopal Church.
