I think we can all hope to be where Marshall is someday. Focus not on what you have lost, but what he has gained by passing on to the next life.

"Though nothing can bring back the hour

Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower

We will grieve not, rather find

Strength in what remains behind"

(Wm. Wordsworth, "Intimations of Immortality")

Lorna, my heart aches for you. I can think of little else but your profound loss. It is against the natural order of things, and someone you gave life to, who you nurtured and raised, has been taken away you and the rest of the world way before his time. There is little comfort knowing that God selects those who He deems greater than this world to seat at His right hand. I know your faith must be tested and shaken, but through your profound loss I hope you realize that Marshall is seated right next to Him, looking down and watching over for you for the rest of your days. And as described in the passage above, try to find strength - spiritual, emotional, physical - in what remains behind: The people that grieve along with you, the people that want to do all they can to see you through these trying times, and the people who love you for all that you are. You have more strength than you think, and you will get through this - with the love and support of your friends and family. Our thoughts and prayers and sincere condolences are with you now and in the days to come.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son. I lost my husband unexpectedly in February of this year. Steve and I are the parents of Kellie McCahren. We saw Marshall several times with Kellie and Justin. He was a very nice young man. It is very hard to loose a loved one. May God bless you and give you the strength to get through this difficult time in your life. I know that Steve and Marshall are resting in a peaceful place.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

In an instant your face disappeared,

Youth stolen in a way that we all fear.

So much unattained; dreams never realized, Yet fate can be recognized or dreadfully disguised.

Your vibrant nature will always inhibit my mind, However; I'll always ache in agony at this world--so unkind.

Once, while I visited Kelly & Justin, I was able to meet Marshall. I remember as he stood beside his friend Dennis, him being a tall, handsome, sweet guy - smiling. I didn't know him well, but I felt so saddened to hear of the tragic ending to his young life. I am sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace, in the presense of our Lord. May the Lord bless your family, friends, and loved ones with strength to endure thru these difficult times. - The Zentz Family -

Kelly, Sydney & I will miss Marshall for the rest of our days. My heart goes out to Lorna and Mr. McDonald as well. He was a good friend but an even better person. His heart was strong and his will was unmatched. His memories will derive strength; we will all see him again.
