MARTHA BARBOUR Obituary
MARTHA NADINE McDAY BARBOUR (Age 65)
Found eternal peace and returned to be with her Heavenly Father on the morning of Thursday, May 12, 2016 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory, loving husband, Glenn C. Barbour; dutiful son, Benjamin C. Barbour; affectionate daughter, E. Starr Barbour; caring daughter-in-law, Tiffany Barbour and granddaughters Shawnteria, LaShauna and Che-yenne Barbour. Martha will also be remembered by a host of friends and extended family. Services will be held at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, Piscataway, Maryland 20735 on the morning of Tuesday May 24, 2016. The viewing will begin at 10 a.m., with the Family Tribute beginning promptly at 11:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 1:45 p.m.Funeral services organized by Johnson Funeral Service PA of White Plains, MD.

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO THE BARBOUR FAMILY. MRS. BARBOUR WAS MY 9TH GRADE ALGEBRA TEACHER AT LARGO HS. SHE WAS MORE THAN A TEACHER. SHE WAS MY FAVORITE AND THE BEST TEACHER. SHE INTRODUCED ME TO THE LOVE OF MATH. SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL, WARM, LOVING AND HONEST. SHE TRULY IMPACTED MY LIFE AND I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL. I'D LIKE TO SHARE A VERY SPECIAL MEMORY: MY FATHER PASSED IN JULY, 1985. I CONTACTED MRS. BARBOUR THAT SUMMER AND TOLD HER HOW HURT I WAS ABOUT HIS DEATH. TO MY SURPRISE MRS. BARBOUR CAME TO THE FUNERAL AND BROUGHT A PRESENT TO ME. I DON'T KNOW IF SHE EVER KNEW HOW MUCH THAT MEANT TO ME? THANK YOU FAMILY FOR SHARING YOUR WIFE, MOM, AND GRANDMOTHER WITH SO MANY STUDENTS THAT SHE INFLUENCED. MRS BARBOUR, YOU WILL FOREVER BE MISSED AND LOVED!

Mrs. Barbour was more than my all time favorite teacher. She was the example of what a teacher should be. She cared for her students as if we were her flesh and blood. She was a big influence in my life as a teenager and young adult. I will miss Mrs. Martha Nadine Barbour (Jean)..... RIP sweet lady.

Nadine and I took "water aerobics" together. At one class, she took off a pin which had made and gave it to me, because I mentioned how beautiful it was. But, it wasn't as beautiful as she was. Rest in peace!!
