Hello, I was just reminiscing, and it is so good to read these tributes to my brother Marvin. Thank you all so much for taking time to remember Marvin. We were very saddened this year to also lose our brother Arch Scurlock ("AC"). I hope the two brothers are together in Paradise, with everlasting love, sister Susan

Marvin was a very good friend a long time ago. We lost touch and I am glad to hear he had children, grandchildren and a good life. I am sorry we were unable to reconnect after we grew up, but will look him up when I get to where he is. I wonder if he and Mike Strimling have gotten together. It has been a long time since he passed away. I remember Marvin as handsome, smart and very funny. I know he will be missed by his family and am sorry for their loss. Donna Joy McLean Cleveland

I will miss you, Marvin. I loved you dearly and appreciated you in so many ways. To your children and grandchildren, your father and grandfather, my cousin, was a man of honor, humor and great love. When he spoke of you, it was always with love. He was a delight.

Death is Nothing at All

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old, familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Laugh as we always laughed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past. Nothing is lost. One brief moment and it will all be as it was before – only better. Infinitely happier and forever, we will all be one together with Christ.

Hi Susan,

In Paradisum:

"May Angels lead you into paradise;
may the Martyrs receive you at your coming
and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem.
May a choir of Angels receive you,
and with Lazarus, who once was poor, may you have eternal rest."

You will see Marvin again in Paradise!
