Mary Alice Metcalf

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Mary Alice Metcalf passed away unexpectedly at Reston Hospital Center.
Mary was born on July 12, 1954 in New York City to Edward and Alice Bradford. Growing up, Mary was called "M. A." or Mary Alice by family and friends. It wasn't until she became an adult, did she revert back to just "Mary". She was a life-long reader, Coca-Cola drinker and an avid bowler, at one time belonging to several leagues.
Eventually, her interest turned to boating and she enjoyed being on the water every weekend, weather permitting - sometimes driving to the marina in her sports car. Mary had a long and varied career as a bank Trust Officer, Union accountant and an Office Manager at a small business.
Later in life, Mary discovered cruising and enjoyed traveling with family and friends to the Caribbean. She was also proud of the fact that she registered to vote for the first time when Donald Trump ran for President. In the evenings, after watching Jeopardy, you would find Mary in her yard tending to her flowers.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Edward M. and Alice B. Bradford and a brother, William G. Bradford. She is survived by her brothers Edward M. (Ellen) Bradford, Jr. and James H. (Patience) Bradford, as well as her sister Patricia B. Dix. She is also survived by two nephews, Fletcher Bradford and Ryan Dix.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 22, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Avenue W., Vienna, VA 22180. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
