MARY ANN ORMES June 10, 1925 ~ May 6, 2015
Mary Ann Ormes of Ashburn, VA, died at home with her family in attendance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Ormes and is survived by twin sister, Nancy Heller, daughters, Julia Robinson, Carolyn Ormes and Margaret Ormes; and grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lindsay Robinson. She was born in Crawfordsville, IN, graduated from Miami University in 1947 and married in 1950. After moving to Alexandria in 1954, she volunteered in the community until 1973 when she was appointed Executive Director of Senior Services of Alexandria, Inc. After her retirement she served on the National Symphony Orchestra Women's Committee until her death. Services were held on May 8, 2015 at Ashby Ponds chapel. Carolyn and family,
My sincere sympathy in the loss of your mother. I'm very happy that Washington Ringing Society was able to ring a successful quarter peal of Stedman Caters, at Washington National Cathedral, on 10 May, to celebrate her life.Blessings and comfort at this time.
