Matthew Faircloth Obituary
FAIRCLOTH MATTHEW PAUL FAIRCLOTH (Age 31) Passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in North Carolina after fighting a courageous battle with carcinoid cancer. Services will be held in Washington, DC at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17 in St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Rev. Dr. Nancy Lee Jose, officiating. A private burial will take place at Rock Creek Cemetery. Born on January 24, 1979 in Philadelphia, PA, Matt was the son of Paul Faircloth of Levittown, PA and Kay Faircloth of Boynton Beach, FL. He married Laura Anderson Faircloth on August 9, 2008 in Quebec City. Matt graduated from Bucknell University, where he studied civil engineering and was a member of the football team. Matt worked as a construction project manager in Washington, DC and Hawaii. He will be best remembered for his calm character, his kindness and his love of snowboarding, mountain biking, golf and spending time at the beach with his dog, Porter. Survivors include his wife and best friend, Laura; his mother, Kay Sclafani Faircloth; father, Paul Faircloth; in-laws, Margie and Gerry Anderson; and many loving friends. Matt was a great person. Such a nice guy and always fun to be around. We lost touch after college, but I always considered him a good friend. Matt will definitely be missed. My condolences to his family.

I didn't know Matthew. But I know the sadness, pain and shock of your loss. My son also passed away with carcinoid cancer. I pray that God will give you strength and that one day there will be a cure.
