Mattie Tabron Obituary
A proud Washington, DC native and woman of faith, Dr. Tabron was a trailblazer in education and health care. At Howard University, she founded the nation's first baccalaureate program in radiation therapy, leading it for decades and mentoring generations of professionals. She was the first African American woman named a Fellow of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and received numerous national honors.
Her homegoing service will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at St. Paul Baptist Church. Viewing takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. and a funeral will follow at 11 a.m.
