Maura Fitz-Patrick Obituary
Maura is predeceased by parents Mary and Hal Kelly, and by brother Kevin V. Kelly. She is survived by her husband Bill; daughter Kerry, siblings Michael and Kate; son-in-law Matt, grandchildren Fitz, Claire, Maggie; brothers-in-law Fr. David Fitz-Patrick, Paul Fitz-Patrick, along with a host of friends, relatives, nephews and nieces along with former students who adored her.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on April 19 at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 5949 Western Ave., NW, Washington, DC.
Maura received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia after studying a for a year at Oklahoma University in Norman, OK, and a year at St. Gregory's University in Shawnee, OK. Maura went to work at CNA Insurance Co., followed by several years in the development office of St. Albans School in Washington, DC. She went to work for the Carnegie Institute of Washington's Department of Terrestrial Magnetism. With her busy work schedule she still found time to be active in her church sodality group, Parish Council, and her book club. She found her real joy in life when she went on to teach preschool for twenty years.
Maura radiated warmth and goodness. She made and cherished her many friends. A college classmate said of Maura, "she was happy with what she had."

Hello, I went to St Gregory's and was a friend of Maura. She was a great friend and we enjoyed our time there together.
I have been thinking of her lately. I live in New Market, MD, retired, Special Ed teacher. I remember Bill, very tall and photographer at the White House. I had always hoped that we could get together, but life got busy with 3 kids. So very sorry to find out now of her passing. God bless you, Bill and your family...

I didn't learn of your wonderful wife's passing until too late to attend her Mass. I've often thought of the fun times I had with you during the Reagan years and regretted not keeping up with you after I retired.
