I was devasted to hear Mel had passed. It has been years since we all were together but he and his family have always had a special place in my heart and shared many happy memories and events.
Betty, Mel, Moody, and family have been friends since the late 60's and I have cherished that friendship.
Betty and kids, please accept my heartfelt sympathy and remember he is now free of pain and flying amongst all the good guys!

Mr Bell, you never knew me. I don't think I ever saw you.
But I knew your son, Steve.
We shared the joys and sorrows of grade school together at Wheaton Woods.
While we may not have been good, close friends, Steve was a kind, honest soul. He was nice to me when schoolyard bullies were... less so. We shared various moments of laughter and stress together, as 5th and 6th graders will laugh and stress over truly life altering events such as fart jokes and math tests.
My thanks to you... for siring and nurturing a good boy/man that Steve was...and is. You done good, Dad.
Rest easy now. For your peace is well earned and the best of you lives on... in him.
Peace and serenity to the Bell family.
