To the Family... Just wanted to say, I still think about my early years of Sprint and working along side of Mike on VA presentations. He really taught me a lot and he is missed. Toasting in his honor tonight. A funny story for you... Mike used to carry around 1 gallon jug of water to drink, yes we would laugh. A couple of weeks ago my 13yr old asked if he could. I tried to convince not a great idea...well fast forward, his buddies at Baseball couldn't wait to tell me that Alex had spilled that almost full gallon of water all over the hallway. He turned to me and said mom, lesson learned you are always right. But I did think of Mike that day carrying around his water jug. I smiled and missed my friend.

Dear Mike,
I have great memories of our time together in 1974 and 1975 when we shared a little apartment on Calvert Road near Route 1 in College Park. We went to the University of Md., worked at Safeway, had many conversations and laughs together and both graduated. We then went out in the world to chase our dreams and goals. Little did I know that God would call for you at the young age of 61. I attended your services at Our Lady of Mercy Church to hear what a great man you became to your friends, business associates and family. Your children will have a great memory of you as a great father. All the people that spoke knew the same Mike Boyland that I knew from college. A man with a quick smile, positive attitude and very much a giver. I will miss you Mike Boyland and I hope one day we will meet again. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Kitten. And also with your children Michael, Bradley and Bailey whom spoke with so much admiration of you at your services.

Mike never met a stranger. He was a smart, cheerful and overall awesome guy. He spoke with great pride of the love he had for his two boys and daughter. He often mentioned his beautiful wife and the her gift of caring for horses.

He will be missed but our Father in heaven had other plans for Mike. I pray that his family finds peace and comfort as eventually their tears will turn to fond and loving memories .
