Michael Braddock Obituary

On July 9, 2024 Michael "Skeeter" Braddock passed away peacefully surrounded by some friends and staff at the Lutheran Home in Rockville, MD. Loving son of the late John and Rita Hurley Braddock; Brother of Diane Davis of Virginia and the late Denny and Jerry Braddock. Mike grew up in Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Bethesda, MD and was well known for his athletic skills at an early age. Although he was competitive in all team sports, he excelled in basketball. He graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1960 and starred on their basketball team in his senior year. Mike loved women, sports, cash, beer and motorcycles in his adolescent years. His working years were spent in several contracting businesses and ended with the ownership and management of the Auburn Exxon Station in Bethesda, MD. Mike played on, and later sponsored several championship softball teams in Montgomery County, MD. The highlight of his softball career was winning second place in the World Series of Softball in 1994, a team that was sponsored by Auburn Exxon. Exxon Skeeter, as his friends knew him, will be missed by sister Diane and his many friends and teammates. Friends may call at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 6900 River Road, Bethesda, MD 20817 on Monday July 22, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. where a Memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment Private.
