I was in basic training with sgt. Peek and I was fortunate enough to not only be stationed with him in Germany but we were also in the same squad. We were deployed together and even roommates for the whole time I was with the 212th. He was not just a friend but a brother and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. You will forever be missed brother!

To the Family of Mike Peek,
I was a friend of Mike's in High School, he was probably one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. High School can be scary but with a friend like that, things don't seem so hard. One of the things I liked most about him was that he never judged anyone, I admired that he was "color blind". I am sorry for your loss, but I am honored to have known him. I had been looking for him on facebook for a while, and I heard from a friend what had happened. I thank you for your sacrifice, God Bless Your Family Forever and Always.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

THE FINAL INSPECTION
The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

To the friends and family of SGT Peek, I am truly sorry for the loss that you have suffered and wish to express my condolences.
I was fortunate enough to have served with SGT Peek as his First Sergeant during the unit's first tour in Iraq. Michael was an outstanding Soldier and always could be counted on to accomplish the mission.
I also had the opportunity to accompany him and the rest of the 630th MP Company's Warfighter team to Ft. Loenard Wood for the Warfighter competition. Michael was the heart and soul of the team. His motivation and detirmination simply amazed me. There was no doubt that he was a great leader and mentor to his team.

I cannot express in words my deep sorrow at the untimely death of your son, Sergeant Michael Peek. All of the members of the 630th Military Police Company, past and present, share your grief and we offer both our sympathy and support.
It was truly my pleasure to serve as Mike’s commander during his first tour in Iraq. His terrific attitude, motivation, and care for his fellow soldiers were always a breath of fresh air for us in this unstable and arduous time of war. For that I am truly thankful. His attributes as a soldier and human being will provide strength and direction for all of us.
Mike devoted himself to his fellow platoon and company members, and he dedicated himself daily to performing his difficult duties with great honor. He was loved by all those he touched, from his unit and beyond. During this most recent tour he performed his duties under extraordinarily difficult circumstances with the same level of determination he exhibited from the day he first arrived in Iraq, nearly three years ago. While doing so, he paid the last full measure of devotion for his fellow soldiers and nation. For that, I am humbled and honored to have served with him.
At this difficult time we honor his life and service, grieve the loss of our friend and compatriot, and pray for all of you. May God grant your family peace as the Lord receives Mike into His loving arms.

"Wait on the Lord, be of good courage
and He shall strengthen your heart"
~ Psalm 27:14 ~
May the Peace of God and the memories of Michael, remain in your heart always.
May this give you comfort and strength through the difficult days ahead.
