Michael DePompa Obituary



DePOMPA MICHAEL CARL DePOMPA Michael Carl DePOMPA of Olney, MD, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away after a punishing battle with lung cancer on October 23, 2008, at home. Mr. DePompa, 73, a talented artist and art instructor for the Torpedo Factory and other local and regional art schools, served for more than 30 years as an executive of the IBM Corporation. He is survived by his loving wife, Gertrud, along with daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and James Reimers, Nicole and Khalid Jaber; and son Mark A. DePompa. He is also cherished by his grandchildren Gavin, Hunter, Kamil and Isabella. Mr. DePompa has a surviving brother, Mark DePompa; and a sister, Margaret DePompa; as well as a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Burial services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 10, at Arlington National Cemetery‘s Old Post Chapel, Ft. Meyer, VA 22211. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be sent to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund at: http:// www.childrenoffallensoldiersrelieffund.org/ .
