I feel fortunate to have known Mike. A small number of the many people one meets in a lifetime leave a really lasting impression and Mike will always number among the few that have made a strong imprint on my memory. He was probably the most detail-oriented person I have ever met, so you knew that when he engaged in debate with you, (his favorite thing to do) he had already researched all of the facts in detail and you had no chance of winning the argument. Mike often called me out-of-the-blue to discuss current events, sports, or even the weather. I will never forget the time he called to let me know that a tornado was forecast to pass directly over United and suggested that I go up on the roof of the building so that I could report back to him how close it was! The funny thing is that – because it was Mike, I actually did it! He will be missed!

Mike - I miss you. You were always so honest with me. I could teach a programming class on the common sense approach that you demanded of my skills. You seem to make a friend with every person you encountered. I am honored to have known you. May God give you peace, Tommy....
