Michael John Mahoney, Jr.  (Age 84)  
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in the loving presence of his wife, their five children, and grandson, at his side. Mike Mahoney is survived by his wife, Patricia Mahoney, children, Brian Mahoney, Kathleen Mahoney, Kevin Mahoney, Michael Mahoney III, and Mary Mahoney, his eight grandchildren Michael James Mahoney, Kevin Jalil and Ian Mahoney, Kevin and Darby, Emma, Gabriella, and newborn, Michael John Mahoney IV, and one great-grandchild, Kaden Mahoney.He attended Georgetown University and graduated from the School Of Foreign Service in 1960. Early in his career Mike helped design transportation engineering projects in Maine, New York, and Puerto Rico. Later in life, his passion turned to Information and Identification Technology with the main focus being facial imaging and fingerprint technology. Upon graduation from Georgetown, Mike and his wife Pat eventually settled in Great Falls, Virginia where they have lived for the past 45 years.On Monday, March 21, all are welcome to join the family at their longtime parish, St. Catherine of Sienna in Great Falls, Virginia. There will be a meet and greet with the family at noon with the funeral mass at 1 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The American Heart Association www.heart.org or The Heritage Foundation www.heritage.org.
