Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Michael R. Lehmiller US Army Sergeant. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

Hey babe! I miss you and wish I could see you and talk to you, again. But then again, I wouldn't want you to come back to this awful place. I know, I'm a little late, but I can remember 7 yrs ago like it was just yesterday. There isn't a second of the day, I don't think about you and miss you. People say it gets easier with time, well it has a little, but I don't ever think I will completely feel the way I was when I was with you. Anyways, I love you! Love Always

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Michael, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Hey Mike:
Just had one of them days yesterday ya know, a million things racing thru your mind. I thank you & all the rest of the military who hold the tru values of life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness. For those who are willing to stand up for the weak & the innocent, & defend those who cannot defend themself. To take a stand agianst tyranny & opression and not let the vulnerable be taken advantage of which as a society we should all do. I've been able to enjoy the freedoms the military has garenteed us with us with there blood & there selfless sacrifice. It is not the way a soldier dies that they will be remembered, but the way they lived. Honor,Integrity,Courage,Respect is something that cannot be given, it has to be earned & you and others have earned that. Well it's three am here & not sure of your time zone, I'll be up later this morning to see you & the family. I wish I could turn back time but that would be selfish, we all have are own choices to make & have to live by those choices & I respect your choice of patriotism & hold your memories for that is all that is left. Mike, we miss you & I know you don't want anyone to cry for you, but sometimes it just ain't that easy ya know. Anyway till later, AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY (they are the wings of freedom). Uncle Bill

Hey Mike, just wanted to let you know that I miss and love you man.I remember growing up and you were like my little brother, and best friend. We did everything together,it made me feel so good that you thought so much of me,you looked up to me like a big brother and now I look up to you, you are my role model I hope I can touch as many lives in a possitive way as you have. You have earned the name HERO and you wear it well, and even though its hard to hold back the tears, I know I will see you again, and until then I will keep honoring you and what you stood for until I see you in that magical place we call heaven. I miss you and love you, cuz

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

As for me I try to live each day with the thought on everything I do, would you be proud? Would you approve of the choices I made? How will the things I do affect your memory? I hope you approve. beloved son, today I am on my way to lay another soldier to rest. My thoughts are with you and how I wish you were here. I want you and everyone to know this. As we enjoy the liberties of this great country, we must also shoulder the burden of her defense. Our heroes and our veterans indeed shouldered their share of that burden, some like mike to the point of ultimate sacrifice. we can never forget them... for a country who forgets it's defenders will it self soon be forgotten. To our heroes it is not just a job, it's their belief and their commitment to us here at home. they ask nothing in return, not wealth, not power, not fame... to them protecting America is a privilege, an honor, a solemn duty that is passed like a torch from their parents and grandparents before them. when I think of our heroes, I am reminded of the 3rd verse of America the beautiful. it reads O beautiful for heroes prov'd in liberting strife.. who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life. As our heroes lose their lives defending america they bestow upon us a duty. it is a duty which we did not ask for, it is a duty we owe to them as a greatful nation, it is a duty filled with sorrow and pride. that duty is to be the guardians of their honor and the builders of their monuments. For we will be looked upon and judged by future generations as to how we honor our heroes and veterans. let us always remember the sacrifices they make. never let what they have done be short changed by politics or selfishness.br proud of all who defend us. our heroes fulfilled their promise to keep us safe, we must repay them as americans by supporting them and standing united. for our veterans are the ones who paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy each and every day. as we think of our heroes and the pride they had for a job they chose, we should have the same pride for causes that would make them proud. find your cause, see it through, and remember the gold star mothers motto. ( honor the dead by serving the living)

It's been over a year, and still not a day goes by that I find myself thinking about you. Along with the memories, you left behind. Yesterday, I was driving to Fayetteville and I can remember the many times one of us drove that road, to see the other. You won't believe it. "Yeah" by Usher came on the radio. And I automatically started smiling ear to ear. *Remembering watching you and the guys dancing at the Army Ball.* What I miss the most..is your smile. You taught me so much, and left me so many fun and wonderful memories! There will always be a part of you that I will always carry in remembrance of you. Thanks for the little signs..that you dropped to me. You always find away to make me laugh. I love and miss you dearly.

Hey buddy, I just wanted to let know, I met with the president of the united states yesterday. He is truly a class A person. He takes each and every soldier's death personally. He truly does, as we met I was talking to him and expecting a hand shake, he said to me, come here your a gold star dad you get a hug, then he hugged me. I was surprised and I guess the pitchers will show the look on my face. He hugged all the gold star moms and gave each of them a kiss. Mike, I tell you buddy you are not forgotten. Just want to thank you & all of the military personal past & present. I LOVE MY COUNTRY & ENJOY THE FRUITS LIBERTY HAS TO OFFER & I have only the United States Military Branches to thank. Sure do miss your smile & laughs. Youv'e been through your hell so at at ease soldier, we'll deal with ours! Seems like only yesterday and as I deal with everday irritants I stop and think, hell life ain't so bad I don't have people shooting at me. To the US Military, keep up the fight. I don't want the next military operation named Operation American Freedom & the battle front being North America. Keep smiling Mike & don't think twice about giving us a sign. Kinda looking forward to one. Sometimes I still don't want face the reality that your gone, but we'll never forget the sacrifice. We'll see you tomorrow, coming up to make sure your not partying to much with-out us. Love ya & miss ya man. Uncle Bill & Aunt Jeanett

Hi Mike,
It's been nearly a year now and this is the first time I've signed your guest book. I've spent all this time thinking of the right words to say and I believe I've found it in a poem someone sent to me today. The name of the poem is "How Do You Spend Your Dash?" I know for sure your dash was well spent and we all thank you for it!!! I will write more later, but until then...NO, you can't have my beer!!!???!!! Love Your #1 Sister, Shelly (I know, I'm your ONLY sister :0) )

Hey Babe~ Of course, It's 4th of July. And like your mom, I have to agree with her. This 4th of July, I step back and look back of how many people take granted of the freedom, we have. If it wasn't for you and many others..we wouldn't be free. It brings tears to my eyes, but hopefully one day people will understand. How hard it is for people they love to bury a True Hero, and how they take the simple things for granted. I surely miss you! I know your with me, and all of us that miss you and love you. I will never forget the love, and everything else you taught me and brought me into my life. Thanks for loving me for who I am! I miss you! And I'll see you one day. I will always love you!oxoxox

On this Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to send my sincere sympathy as a mother of another soldier who served with your son in B-Company/503rd In/173rd Airborne. My son was with your son on that convoy that day and not a day goes by that I do not think of that horrible day and grieve with you for the loss of those 4 heros. You should be so proud of Michael and although nothing will ever fill the loss, know that he is missed by his peers as well.
God bless each of you and may He bring you peace and fill your life with happy memories of the life of your son and may you find some comfort in his death as time goes on.

Mike,
Tommorow is Mother's Day. And I hear your mom is in Tampa with Shelly. I'm glad to hear that; because I can't get your mom out of my mind. Especially, since Mother's Day is so close to my birthday. I can't stop remembering the love you have for your mom! Along with looking at the picture I have of your mom and you at the Freedom Festival. All the memories of you and your mom, all the laughs-I have to remember. Is getting me through this Mother's Day. I'm so greatful for your family and lucky that I was able to love you unconditionally. Anyways, I want to wish Shelly and your Mom-"Happy Mother's Day" I know you are watching over them.. We all miss you and love you.

Michael;
I'm sitting here in front of the computer looking at a pic of us from Uncle Timmy's wedding. I love that picture almost as much as I love the one of you and me at your sister's wedding! I can't begin to tell you how much I think about you and how proud I am of you. Ed, Lily, my mom and I went to see you mom in SC- and it was so nice to be there, but one thing was missing and that was you. We really had a nice time- we looked at the scrap books your mom made for you and it brought back alot of memories. I kept thinking what it would have been like if you had been there-- we sat and had a fire one night, and I kept thinking how fun it would have been with you there and you and Ed drinking Jack and Southern!! I just want you to know you are always in my thoughts and you are very much missed by everybody!! We all love you so much!

Mookie was one of the few that I always thought about throughout the years. Man, he was a clown! When, I heard the news about his death, I was shocked and couldn't beleive it. They say life is crazy and everything happends for a reason...well, it's true. Mookie, thanks for making me laugh since pierce, and well...just being you. Thanks for being a true soldier. I ran into our boys, and they miss you too; everything they do, they do for you. You are truly missed. On Easter I was talking about you to my fam, then on my way home, I ran into A. and Bolo...Bolo knows you were the one who set that up. Thanks again, for everything. We can only remember a legend...one that was free and did what he wanted with no regrets.

Mike~
I dont even know where to begin with this...There isn't a second of the day, that you don't cross my mind. I know I'm not the only one, that is dealing with you being gone. Had to deal with another holiday, and I all I thought about was your family. Along with the true meaning of Easter. Baby, I wish you were here in person. But you are in my memories and inspiration to make a difference. I love you. You are truly missed by amazing people. And as long as I'm alive..your memory will be alive! See you in my dreams...
I love and Miss you!

My Little Man. It's been 6 months since you have gone and it seems like yesterday I talked to you on the phone talking about what we would have done on when you came home. It was a hard day for me but I got thru it thinking about you and some of the funny jokes you had. I miss you with my whole heart. I only hope the pain will ease up. I know the emptiness will never go away. I love you. Love MOM

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!
