MICHAEL C. TIERNEY
On Sunday, September 5, 2021, MICHAEL C. TIERNEY of Washington, D.C., beloved husband of Allison Tierney; loving father of Shane, Bennet and Jeremy Tierney, dear brother of Maurice, Mark, and Tracy Tierney. Graveside services for family only will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, 1 p.m. at the Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, 14321 Camus Rd., Clarksburg, MD. An outdoor memorial service and celebration of Michael will be held Sunday, September 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Temple Sinai, 3100 Military Rd. NW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or to:http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/goto/JamesCleary

What a sad sad loss for all who knew Mike and for our community and world. He had a huge heart, charming smile and quick wit. Our paths crisscrossed as softball teammates, biking buddies and Sidwell dads; his integrity and character in all venues was a model for me. I am deeply saddened by his death and blessed to have been touched by such a loving soul.

Michael was a wonderful collaborator - great with patients, professional, and with a gentle humor. The year he helped me select music for the holiday party I learned how much of an Elvis Presley fan he was! Michael, you will be fondly remembered - "thank you very much"
