Mina Klein Obituary

Mina – ("little flower" in Persian) – Dadvar Klein died of cancer on March 12, 2025. Born in Iran, her father was a general in the Shah's army and chief architect of Iran's major civil and military projects. She immigrated after the fall of the Shah to the United States, earned a Masters Degree in Psychology. Always a caretaker, she worked with highly disturbed teenagers in a residential facility and then schizophrenics, some of whom she successfully treated with talk therapy, which then was thought to be impossible. Then she built a private practice in the which she treated many of the Iranian community which was at the time not known for embracing psychotherapy, as well as many other ethnicities. A loving mother to her son Daniel (and the family dogs, Panda and Sophie) and fine partner to her husband, Bernard, who credits her with bringing him to life. As good as psychotherapist as she was, Bernard believes she missed her true calling – a lawyer. It was not wise to get into an argument with her. Service private.

I am so sorry to hear of Minoo´s passing.
I met her in 1979 in Connecticut. We were roommates and good friends. I remember her as a wonderful friend, a great sister to Mary(sp)
And aunt to Rachelle.
Her memory is a blessing.
Bernard and Daniel- I´ll be thinking of you.

Mina was one of those very rare people with the ability to change people’s lives. I know. She changed mine. Her confidence and encouragement allowed me to dramatically change my life. My favorite Mina-ism was: “whatever comes your way, you WILL handle it”
Although I am heartbroken, I am certain that Mina has left behind many, if not hundreds points of light. People who have been changed for the better from knowing her.
Knowing Mina was one of the most important things which has ever happened to me.

Bernard and Daniel I'm so sorry for your enormous loss. I knew Mina as a client. I don't think many therapists are as effective and transformed as many lives as Mina certainly did. There are countless of us out there that owe so much to Mina's practical approach. Mina will live on in my head as I follow the guidance she taught me. RIP Mina! You are so special.

She helped so many of us. She saved my life. I´m in the white shirt next to her. My name is Laleh Teymurian. She was my Angel.
