Moody DeWitt WHARAM, JR., MD.
On August 10, 2018, Moody DeWitt Wharam, Jr., MD, age 77, beloved husband of Sheila M. Wharam (nee Reese); devoted father of Julia M. Whelan and her husband, Christopher, James Franklin Wharam and his wife, Vivienne, and Anne W. Thomas and her husband, Jason, cherished brother of Franklin D. Wharam; dear brother-in-law of Brother Vincent Reese, F.S.C.; loving grandfather of Alicia and Christopher Reese Whelan, Julia Mei, James, Henry, and Ronan Wharam, and Noel Asher, Mary, and Lydia Thomas.Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26), on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Cockeysville, on Thursday, 10 a.m. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem Foundation at https://birthplaceofhope.org/donate/ or Muscular Dystrophy Association at www.mda.org/ www.RuckFuneralHomes.com

I was privileged to work with Dr. Wharam at the Division of Radiation Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Cancer Center from 1983-1997. In his over fifty years there he cured and cared for countless patients and their families. At our pediatric patients end of treatment visit and party he could be seen with a smile wearing a party hat and enjoying the kids celebration cake with them and their family. Our world has lost an accomplished, special physician, treacher and researcher.
My husband and I will fondly remember dinners with Moody, Sheila and a group of colleagues from the early years of Hopkins Radiation Oncology.
Sheila, you were an amazing caregiver to your beloved Moody during these past difficult years. Our prayers are with you and your great family.
