My sympathies to the whole family and I was very moved by Rachel and Michael's eulogies (by live cast). Amb. "Mort" was my first full-time boss after college (1994) and still inspires me today. He taught me to consider how power can be used to help as many people as possible; to detect bull* especially from those who hold power and seek to protect theirs more than to help others; to not take yourself too seriously but to seriously aspire to be of service and to always work towards meaningful impact. Mort will always be part of my professional conscience and having lost my parents, my heart goes out to you all for the incredible human being you -- and the nation and world -- have lost. May Mort's memory be a blessing, always. xo Lukas Haynes

My condolences to Michael and Rachel and the grandchildren. Mort and Sheppie were clients and friends for over 50 years and they will be greatly missed by family and friends all over the world!
