Nathan Sternberg

On Tuesday, October 23, 2024, Nathan Sternberg, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was the beloved husband of JoAnne Sternberg z"l, devoted father of Harriet (Paul) Turkheimer and Jeffrey (Josee) Sternberg, cherished grandfather of Ally (Barry) Jakov, Bari Turkheimer and Zachary Turkheimer, and loving great grandfather of Adler Levi Jakov.
He spent most of his career working for the government at several different agencies in the computer field. Nathan loved traveling, spending time with family, rooting for his favorite sports teams, and spending time at the Leisure World Computer Center teaching folks about technology. He also enjoyed fishing, a favorite pastime that he shared with his son Jeffrey. One thing all will remember Nate for is his incredible sense of humor. He was the king of "Dad Jokes" and loved nothing more than making people laugh.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, 1 p.m. at Judean Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832. Immediately after the burial, the family will receive guests until 4 p.m. at the Turkheimer's Residence. Shiva will resume Sunday to Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Minyan at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
