It's now 4 months after Neil was nifter. For some reason, today I was remembering 4th grade, when Neil and I gave oral book reports on the same book. But we spoke about totally different parts of the book, and if I hadn't known that it was the same book, I wouldn't have recognized it from his report. Then that reminded me of an episode in 1st grade when we were coloring, and Neil chose to outline each part of the picture, and then fill it in with a lighter hue of the same color. The teacher, Mrs. Brubaker, liked it, and showed it to the class. I don't remember ever seeing him again after elementary school, although we both graduated from Heights High. From reading his obituary and the notes from people, it's clear he was a very special person, who lived a full, rich life.

So sorry for this loss to the family. I only met him once, at a party, and found him kind and intelligent, and enjoyed following Marjorie´s family on facebook. He´s left quite a legacy.

Dear Marjorie and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss but it is also such a big loss for all of us who knew Neil. He was such a treasure, a national treasure. He dedicated his life to ensuring that there were break throughs and drugs developed for one of the most devastating diseases ravaging our friends and families. So grateful for his work and so honored to know such a wonderful, selfless human being who also had such a great sense of humor. I know I speak for so many others Neil touched.
Sending you much love and comfort during this time.
Love, Judy

worked with Neil at NIA for about 16 years, and He was a treasure. His dedication to AD research was a great gift to patients and families and an inspiration for the rest of us. I have so many lovely memories. All that and he always laughed at my jokes! Neil will be missed by so many. Blessings on all of his family.

Marjorie, I am sorry for your loss.
You and he, along with the kids, have so much to improve our environs in many ways. And his tilting at the powerful windmill that is Alzheimer´s gives us opportunity to discover more which will benefit us all.
May his name be a blessing.

Thinking of his integrity. His gentle way. His warm eyes and smile. The way he loved Margie and his family. The blessing his presence has been to all of us who had the good fortune to know him, and the countless people his wisdom has helped. Rest in peace and fly with the Angels sweet Neil. You will be missed by so many but never forgotten. xoxox
