Nils Antezana Obituary

NILS ANTEZANA, M.D.

On Tuesday, May 18, 2004, DR. NILS ANTEZANA, Pathologist of Washington, D.C., beloved husband of Gladys Sologuren Antezana, loving father of David Antezana and Fabiola Antezana, died upon his descent of Mount Everest (Nepal), after successfully reaching the summit. At 69 years of age, he has become the second oldest person and oldest American in the world to reach the summit of Mt. Everest (29,035 ft. altitude). The family kindly requests relatives and friends to attend the Memorial Mass in Dr. Nils Antezana's honor to be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, 4835 MacArthur Blvd., N.W. Washington, D.C. on Saturday, June 12th, 2004 from 2 to 3p.m. Distinguished gentleman, compassionate physician, caring friend, avid climber, experienced pilot, dynamic scuba diver, recent skydiver and adventurous spirit. May we all hope to follow in your path: to feel and think young always. We shall miss you Nils, but you will live in our hearts forever and we want you to know how proud we are of your accomplishments. Your life was a gift to all of us.
