NORMAN E. HARRIS
-WE HONOR YOU WITH OUR MEMORIES-
Our beloved Father, Uncle, & Cousin who went home to be with The Lord, 50 years ago today, January 23, 1974.
Daddy, you were the Best Daddy Ever. You filled my growing-up with family traditions of love & fun….taking us out to eat every Friday before going grocery shopping, initiating weekly game nights for board or card games, honoring our ancestors every Memorial & Labor day by us cleaning off & placing new flowers on all the family graves, making Mama breakfast-in-bed on Mother's day and letting me help you by making the menu, and so many other beautiful traditions. Daddy, you knew how to make time together special….building a snowman, coloring Easter eggs, roasting fresh pumpkin seeds & making candy apples for Halloween, flying kites on windy days, and so much more. You set great examples for me. You never talked about what you were going to do, you just did it. You prayed every morning & every night. You never missed a day of work. You took great care of our house & yard, and as long as you lived a repairman was never called. If you weren't at work you were at home, or we were on an outing together, you, Mama & I. You were a man of few words, but a wink of your eye meant everything in the world was alright. It would take a book to truly capture the wonderful father, husband & family man you were. I only had 11 years with you before God called you home, but you left me with a lifetime of wonderful precious memories. It's been 50 years Daddy, since we were together, and I still Love You with All of My Heart, Sherry
I always remember, when I was little, I was riding my bike in Great Grandfather's yard and rode into the sticker briar bush. I couldn't move right or left. Uncle Norman saw me and came outside, all calm; just lifted me up and got me out of it. Love you Uncle Norman, Stephan
Norman was a loving and caring wonderful guy. He was like a big teddy bear… Love, MaryAnn.
The Heart of a Man… The mirror of a man's heart is his actions. Norman was that kind of man. A good influence and inspiration to all he met. He was a gentle giant, with an enjoyable sense of humor that could make any situation pleasant or bearable. Whether you were young or old he made it a point to ask, "How's your day?" or "Do you need anything?". That was Norman. Norman placed his heart in the hand of God. That settled it.
I will always remember you with much love & laughter. From my heart, Joyce Mae
We Love You & Miss You,
Your Daughter, Sherry; Nephew, Stephan;
And Cousins, MaryAnn & Joyce Mae
