Olliver Hutchinson "Hutch"
Olliver "Hutch" Hutchinson was born on February 15, 1941, in Caroline County, VA and passed away at his home in Bowie, MD with his wife, Cassandra Bumbry Hutchinson by his side on October 7, 2023. He is also survived by daughter Nicole Hutchinson and grandson, Brandon Olliver Hutchinson; sister, Doris Hutchinson Collins; step-children Michele Brandon and Vincent Peeples; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends. Hutch battled cancer for 10 years, becoming a willing participant in all approved experimental treatments with good humor and a positive attitude.
Hutch graduated from Union High School in Bowling Green VA and Virginia State University. He was a long-term member of Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA where he served as a Deacon and member of the Drama, Sports, Cancer-Share ministries and three choirs. Friends knew he was happiest with a golf club or softball bat in his hands. He also participated in the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics accumulating 13 medals over the years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Alfred Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

Sincere condolences to The Hutchinson family on the loss of their loved one. May God Comfort you & Grant you Peace! I knew Hutch, as many affectionately called him, during my career at the Library of Congress. Always professional in manner and a kind and generous spirit that served him well in the discharge of his duties. I always enjoyed working with Hutch on special projects that we sometimes collaborated on. May his soul rest in peace...
