I'm shocked to hear that Funmi passed away. I really think the world is a colder and worse place without him in it. I didn't get to know him as well as I would have liked, but the short time I spent with him was awesome. I absolutely loved Funmi. He was one of the nicest, kindest, and most friendly people I ever met. We first met in Iraq when we worked together for just about a month, and he was a senior Major and I was a junior Captain. In a world that is usually very tough, and people are very rough and brash (the Marine infantry in general) Foomz stood out for being a wonderful person who was kind to everyone, positive, upbeat, and a fantastic influence on everyone and thing around him. He and I kept in touch occasionally over the years and saw each other a few times, and I just wish I had seen him more. He was an incredible man. I wish I got to interact with more people like him throughout my life. For his family, please know that he was one of the best people I ever knew and he always did what he could to help others and be a great person--even in environments where that was rare. The world is a worse place without him but I'm very happy that I got to know him when I did. He was an incredible man.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Foomz. I worked with him and he was just a joy to be around, he was always upbeat and happy even in the most extremely stressful situations. He will definitely be missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family.

So sad to hear. His brother Ben was a great guy, and Foomz was as well. This will be rough for all who knew him...especially for his college classmates. Will miss that laugh of his.

I recently met Foomz here at work (NGA). He helped me learn a new business process (for me anyway) and was such a pleasure to call my new friend. The picture posted here on this site represents him well. He was knowledgeable, he had a positive attitude, and a joy that can only come from within. Blessings and honor go out to him and his family.

The world is less without Foomz. I had the privilege of working with Foomz at the Pentagon in SPD. He is one of the most positive, cheerful, and joyous people I have met. I truly enjoyed my time with him.

My heart is heavy with sadness after learning of Foomz's sudden passing. For all those who knew him, he was an exceptional human being and a devoted family man. He was the kind of Marine Officer that every Marine wanted in their corner. I will remember the good times we shared like this trip with the Adeyemi's to Disneyland in 2011. See you on the other side brother. Semper Fidelis and RIP.

Foomz, you were a true warrior and an even greater friend. You helped me beyond measure when I was starting my military career, and I am a better person for having known you. It breaks my heart to know you're gone, but I hope you´ve found peace on your next journey. Valhalla awaits you, my friend. Fair winds and following seas, my brother from another mother. Love you always. Mac
