ALBA, PAGE RICHARDSON SANDERS (82)

PAGE ALBA, of Arlington, VA, died on Friday, January 27, 2006. She was the widow of Col. Carmelo V. Alba, USAF, who died in 2002. They were married for 52 years. She was also the widow of Capt. John P. Sanders, USMC, who was killed in uniform in 1943, three months after their marriage. She is survived by seven children, Mary P. Sanders Lee of Chevy Chase, MD, Charles Alba of N. Potomac, MD, Christopher C.V. Alba of Santa Fe, NM, Lucia P. Mettler of Glenside, PA, Philip O. Alba of Annapolis, MD, Antonia M. Alba of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Michael F. Alba of Percellville, VA. She was the loving grandmother of 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel at Fort Myer, VA, on Wednesday, February 15, at exactly 3 p.m. and interment will be at 3:45 p.m., at Arlington Cemetery, Section 12, Gravesite #1053. A reception will be held for family and friends at Fort Myers Officers' Club, from 4 to 7 p.m. To contact the family, send E-mail to [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Fresh Air Fund, at 633 Third Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10017 (They send inner city children to host families or to camp, to experience country life.), or the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, 2650 S. Arlington Mill Dr., Arlington, VA 22206.
